This work comes with high levels of attention and scrutiny. So, it’s essential that you understand the political dynamics of leading on such a high-profile area. You will need to be able to work well with school leaders and governors, building consensus around expectations and momentum behind the practical steps needed to bring about better outcomes for young people.
We expect that you will already have leadership experience within the sector - either in another local authority or in a multi academy trust. You should be well-informed on the current and emerging issues for the sector and have a detailed appreciation of the challenges that each school faces, individually and as part of the wider system.
